„I was immediately fascinated by the sounds of the tom, the bass drum, and the snare drum when I visited the Schagerl Music shop in Austria . The curve of the snare drum gives it both a great resonance and a deep tone. I recognized the drum’s musical potential right away. Drum maker Markus Lechner and I developed the “Berlin Philharmoniker 2014” edition together. This drum stands out due to its precise responsiveness in pianissimo, flexibility (so that one can tune it wonderfully to various musical tones in the orchestra), and exact definition of individual beats. Furthermore, it is pleasant to play. From the design to the craftsmanship to the tone, this drum is a well-rounded and successful instrument“.
